Aging, gravity, and significant weight loss are the most common reasons people develop loose skin on their body, but this can be improved with a surgical lift like a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty). A reverse tummy tuck (upper abdominoplasty) can be very helpful for patients who are concerned about excess skin and fat rolls on their upper stomach. Commonly known as "bra fat pads," this excess skin just below the breasts are especially prominent when a person is sitting. The reverse tummy tuck can also help patients who have a tummy tuck or had liposuction in their stomach, but may not be satisfied with their results due to scar tissue forming at the incision site or excess skin that has developed over time. Board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Natan Yaker and Board Eligible Dr. Jaime Haidenberg are pleased to offer the reverse tummy tuck procedure at their practice, Cosmetic Surgery Associates of Texas in Dallas.

"5 STAR TREATMENT! Very HAPPY with my TT, MR, LIPO, BREAST IMPL REMOVAL - You get one chance to make a first impression! I had 3 consults from popular Dr.'s in Plano & Frisco.. THIS TEAM SETS OUT TO IMPRESS..` From booking to the consultation appointment and meeting Sherri at the front desk, to walking back with Nurse Kristen immediately I felt at ease. All the staff in passing were so nice and looked like they liked their jobs. Dr.Heidenberg greeted me with a caring calm demeanor. He took his time to listen and address my concerns about my body image. I had breast implants placed 27 years ago that were huge, as they too gained weight, making my back hurt daily.I really needed them removed and wanted a breast lift. Dr. Heidenberg suggested that I SHOULD do this type of surgery in two stages to avoid potential complications from my skin being so thin and stretched out. That was a great suggestion.. as he had my best interest at heart. Also, I DISLIKED a huge scar from a previous c-section running vertical from my pubic bone to right under my belly button . It bothered me for years and gave me a divided large FUPA ! Dr. Heidenberg suggested a Brazilian tummy tuck, muscle repair and lipo of flanks and back.As well to remove my breast implants and to do a lift later after the skin shrinks back some. During surgery he also did a pubic lift, and lipo. That procedure helped with my bladder incontinence . ;) CC worked with me on pricing , was relatable and booked my appointment about 1 month after my consult. They have their own surgical suite in the same office building. I showed up early in the morning for surgery , was prepped, drew on, met the team of nurses, and the anesthesiologist prior to going back to surgery , and it all went very well . I Stayed the night and was taken care of by two post op nurses, They often checked on me throughout the night. My pain was kept to a minimal , and I went home the next morning . My results are so amazing and my incisions were done with such precise measure..it shows how much attention to detail Dr. Heidenberg gives to his patients. He's a perfectionist who take pride in his art of plastic surgery and his patients outcome/results.He did right by me 110%. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Heidenberg for any of your plastic surgery needs. Ive read alot of reviews of unhappy patients and it seems a lot of you chose A surgeon for a low price, or got an inexperienced plastic surgeon who turn them out like branding cattle...lol YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.. and you want the best possible results.. chose the best.possible Dr. PRICING was fair. You will not be disappointed. I am going back for my neck lift and breast lift and I cant wait !"- G. / RealSelf / Jul 28, 2021
"Life changing! I turn heads wherever I go and feel great - I am 44 years old and after 3 kids I decided to see Dr. Haidenberg for a consultation. I chose him for his excellent reviews, online before/after pictures, price transparency, and great location. I had a tummy tuck and liposuction and am 2 months post-op. I couldn’t be more happier! I am thrilled actually. This procedure has changed my life. I can not only fit into old clothes, I am down 2 sizes. I finally went shopping and am so happy on what I can try on. I turn heads wherever I go and feel great. I had excellent care during and after my surgery. The nurses are caring and office staff is friendly. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. Highly recommended!"- D. / RealSelf / Nov 08, 2021

To perform the reverse tummy tuck surgery, Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg will make either a single W-shaped incision or two smaller incisions in the natural creases between the bottom of the breasts (the inframammary fold). Once the incision is made, excess skin will be removed and light liposuction may be performed on stubborn pockets of fat to create a smooth result. The remaining skin will be pulled tight and Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg will suture the incision closed.
The reverse tummy tuck is performed as an outpatient surgery with the patient under general anesthesia. The surgery usually lasts about 2 – 3 hours at Dr. Yaker's on-site surgical facility, which is accredited by the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF). After an observation period, the patient will be allowed to leave to recover at home. Patients should schedule a follow-up appointment with Dr. Yaker about 2 weeks after their surgery so he can assess their recovery and results. Most patients will need about 4 – 6 weeks to recover from their procedure, but many are able to return to sedentary jobs and perform light activities within a few weeks.
During each patient's consultation, Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg will be able to create a custom treatment plan based on the patient's needs and goals. This treatment plan will also help Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg estimate the cost for each patient. On average, the reverse tummy tuck costs around $7,000 – 8,000, but this will vary with each patient.

Reverse Tummy Tuck FAQs
Reverse, Full, or Mini?
There are many abdominoplasty techniques available today, including full, mini, extended, and reverse tummy tucks, so Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg will help each patient determine the best surgery for their needs. During the initial consultation, Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg will listen to the patient's concerns and goals while also examining the patient's stomach before discussing his recommendations. Each patient will receive a custom treatment plan that will achieve their best results.
Patients should wear a post-surgical compression garment that will help support their core while they regain their strength and improve their blood circulation for better healing. After surgery, patients should allow their body to rest and heal, but short walks throughout the recovery period are encouraged.
What About Scarring?
Since the incision is made below the breasts in a natural crease, the scar should be almost invisible if the patient follows their scar care instructions after the surgery. Dr. Yaker or Dr. Haidenberg will go over how to clean the incision and other suggestions that will help the scar heal, so that it better blends with the normal skin.
Correcting a Tummy Tuck?
Some patients who have had liposuction on the stomach or a tummy tuck may develop concerns with their results because of scar tissue that forms. The reverse tummy tuck can improve the appearance of this scar tissue so patients can get the results they want. Other patients benefit from a reverse tummy tuck years after their initial tummy tuck when natural aging, gravity, and weight fluctuations have caused excess skin in the upper abdomen.
